Guys, I am in the same boat with my passport expiring in 2007. I will have to get a new passport since the current one was already valid for 10 years (issued in 97).
Does any one here have any experience / ideas on how long it takes to get the new passport from the consulate here ?

Yes Ofcourse it is going to be serious business,
I mean it is not for the purpose og gaing a GC.
I plan to buy a franchise as in SUBway, QUIZNOS.
Is there a minimum # employees that I have to maintain and how soon can I apply for GC.
Should the employees be permanent.

Did the office say that you are granted visa and the passport will be mailed. I know in Mumbai consulate, you can collect the stamped-passport the same evening.
NewDelhi consulate will have an email address, email them and check. otherwise if you are there in the city visit the consulate and enquire.

These time- pass threads are better than EB2 Vs EB3 threads.

File an H-1B extension while the PERM appeal is pending, asking for one year extension beyond the 6th year. It will be approved with proof of the pending appeal. Then, file a prepare a new PERM filing, withdraw the appeal, and file the new PERM case. With LUCK, you will be able to get the PERM approved and Premium Processed the I-140 before the termination of the 7th year H-1B.

Thanks for your list. So it seems we can do it without attorney help. I am not sure what my attorney is doing its been a month since he had all the papers and fee. I am going to try filing myself:mad:

It is my observation that when we do Google search for a topic on immigration, if our search words match with the titles of our posts in any thread, the serach shows our threads. I observed this with my "AC21 Update" post. Now when I do Google search on words "AC21 Update" the first result displayed is my thread. :)
That means if we cleverly design our thread titles, our threads would be displayed in many Google searches. If this is the observation of all members, would all of you be careful to attach a smart title to your thread? Can all the members be made aware of this fact?
May be I am repeating something that is already discussed, but still.........

You are not the only one to get that message. Info pass appointments are tough to get now. Check during odd hours. I finally found one after hours. ASC's are NOT the same as Field offices. Also Some Field offices require you to show the corresponding state drivers license.
Since my current EAD is expiring Sep 10th, I'm planning to go to the local USCIS office for an interim EAD in first week of Sep.
What is the procedure, do i need to take infopass or any other apoointment or just walk in with papers ?
It's not yet been 90 days since i filed, but i still want to give it a shot. I plan to take a letter from my employer saying without interim EAD (without me being able to work) company would face a setback in a critical phase of project.
I also plan to use such a letter in support of an expedite request.
Gurus please advice:
- How soon should I fax expedite request?
- How soon/late should i go to local USCIS office for interim EAD?
- Could one interfere the other?

Just try to be optimistic and move on. Something is better then nothing. Atleast now you know, you are good after 180 days, if you are not that happy with your current job. But untill then take is easy and keep going with your day to day works. Most folks are much better than they were prior to July. Anyway, the last quarter is typically slow when it comes to job market and use this time to refresh your skills and wait for the right time to make the right move.
Also having EAD/AP etc.. is better compared to being on H1/L1, but remember it is not as good as having GC. Atlest untill you get you GC, you have to be very careful. Also AC21, make sure you know the rule and take the right steps when invoking AC21.

Guys,
I did 3 Years Diploma in Computer Science after 10+2(Non Medical) from India and I have about 16 years of experience in IT. I am thinking of using this education to complete my Bachelors here in US. I would like to know what would my education equate to US Education.
I need an Idea how many courses I would have to take to complete the Bachelors? Please share any tips that would help me take less number of courses.It's not easy with kids.

the best way to handle archives done in photoshop is PNG, in the window of your library you can modify the file as you like
for vectors use illustrator, in flash you can open the archives directly (importing like .ai or .eps)... if you use corel draw, exists and exporter to SWF you can find it in the site of corel

Since I did my master's here. I think they filed my case under EB1...I need to re-check. If this is the case then how long does it take. Yes I'm an indian.
I doubt if a Masters qualifies for EB1. But if you filed under EB1, then you should be able to file I485 immediately as that category is CURRENT. Check and confirm the category your employers filed and post your question again.

AC 21 doesnt restrict for future employment. Purpose of AC21 is for an employee not to stuck with an employer in case of delay in GC. In this case there is a substantial delay from USCIS and hence you can use AC21.

Why has the second H-1 petition been pending so long? Was there an RFE? What does the USCIS on line system show?
