I'll be applying for my wife's and my visa stamping and therefore did some research on this issue myself. I believe that we'll need to print out DS-160 as well and take it to the consulate, the same way we did with previous forms. We can, therefore, write our names (or whoever is the applicant) in our native language on it.

You may already be knowing this. But a note of caution, after hearing few horror stories on H4 going out of status involuntarily.
Extension of renewal on H1 does not mean H4 is automatically renewed. Your new H1b is valid until 2009. Unless you have filed I-539 along with your H1b renewal application, your wife is not going to get new I-94. So if her I-94 is expiring december 2007, she will be out of status after that date, not withstanding your H1B validiity.
It doesnt matter if her visa stamp has your latest employer listed. The single most important thing that will determine her legal status is the validity of I-94 stamp

I have one more question, please advise.
now what if I apply for F1 visa and it get approve say 2 months before her actual class start date. as soon her F1 will get approve she will be on F1 status , so is there any problem she stay on F1 for some period before her actual class start.
for example her actual class will start from 1st of August 2011 and we apply for her F1 on 1st may and it get approve by 15th May and from the approval date of F1 (15th May) she will be on F1 status. but as said actual class will start from 1st Aug 2011, so is there any problem or illegal if she stay on F1 from 15th May 2011 TO 31st July 2011 (75 days) on F1 without her actual class starts ?

I485 along with EAD and AP applications filed during July 02 for me and my family. Got EAD and AP. Used Company�s attorney to file my applications. I live in Michigan and all documents send to TSC. My I-485 is pending with TSC.

We gave for fingerprints 5 days back but our LUD on I-485 is not yet updated. Is this common?
I-485 receipts from NSC.
Most of my friends LUD is updated within 2 days of giving finger prints.

If you do so, your 485 will get abonded, as you travelled without parloe when you are in AOS. If you want to protect 485, you must get AP before leaving. H1B visa will be usefull, only if you maintain H1 status just before leaving US and resumes H1 after arrival.
That is Wrong. He can enter on H1 still maintain I-485. H1 can be from any compnay.There is reason why H1 is called as dual intent visa.

Need some advice from you all. I concurrently filed for me and my wife's I-485 along with EAD, AP and I-140 for each on Jan, 2007. At the time, I was on my H-1B, however, my wife's H-4 was expired as of Dec. 6, 2006. The reason for this is because I had changed jobs earlier, and the lawyers never filed for her H4 transfer. Only my H1 was transferred to the new company, and she was still on her old H-4.
She received her EAD and AP approvals on April, 2007. I have got my I-140 approved as well. Is there going to be any problem with my wife's I-485?
So, here's the timeline:

Jan, 2006 - I changed jobs, got my H1 transferred, which now expired on Oct., 2007. Wife never got her H4 transferred

Can you provide some more information on the AILA liaison meetings? Excuse my ignorance but I have never heard of it before.
Can we ask AILA to support the letter campaign? Specifically, can we ask AILA to push for recapturing 218K unused visas and clarification on how they might be allocated, if recaptured?

So to the extent that you have specific questions about the adjudication process itself you can send them to an AILA member and ask them to submit those questions to the AILA Liaison committee which may or may not choose to ask that question in the liaison meeting with USCIS -- each session has specific sub topics so they don't address every question out there.
Recapture and other major changes to the law are likely handled by other committees at AILA.

When you renew AP, what is start date , Is it from the expiration day of your previous AP ?

I am not sure how these questions will help? Maybe it will proove that we are high skilled and highly paid members who cannot even contribute $20!!
Everyone's got his/her own circumstances which are so beyond how much you are making. Just a matter of personal priorities which for me, for instance, were to pay my lawyers bills until the moment my employer stepped in and picked up the tab :) The point is if someone's making 100K/annum and says that he can't spare $20 for IV needs -- he/she got different priorities which are not necessarily wrong.
