Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8G4 Safari/6533.18.5)
Well based on the news that Apple's new NC data center was the largest for a single company. I would say yes.
No way ... each gmail account gets upwards of 7 gigabytes of storage ... do you even know how many gmail accounts there are?
Google definitely has more than Apple, it may be that they spread it over multiple data centers, so it's not counted as one.
Yea.. But they dot have 7GB actually sitting there for that one customer. They might have 10 allocated to 10 customers and add as they need to, because I bet 99% of gmail users don't have 1Gb on there! People don't think about stuff like this...
So of EVERYONE had a 64gb iPad that was going to have auto sync to these servers, a 64gb space might work for 2 or 3 customers that only have half or a third of their iPad filled. When a company says you get 7GB they don't hol that space for you, they just allow you to use that much.

The white model looks far worse than the black model. Apple should have used the 3G design anyway, it was way better than the iPhone 4's design...
This.
You can at least carry a 3G/3GS around without worrying that the front and back of the phone will shatter from the slightest drop or bump.

Kernel Panics...possibly one of the most frustrating Mac problems ever. Mac has gotten one of the errors, let's just hope that he knows how to restart the machine :p

Its never a good thing when the guy behind the reason we buy Mac's leaves. :(
For the user who mentioned that he was behind OS X flaws (you mentioned iTunes bloat) - you are wrong. iTunes isn't run directly by the Mac OS development team, it has its own department. There's probably a little crossover however generally he wouldn't have much input on iTunes.
It is kind of sad but I'm sure Apple will do okay. And there are a bunch of reasons why I buy Macs. Software is a big part but the design was another (having solidly built hardware is nice). If software was the only reason I'd be using Windows because at this point Windows 7 isn't bad and they frankly have more software for less (the Mac App Store game section compared to Steam is a great example of how little software there is and how we're generally getting ripped off...it isn't just games with this problem either).

I need a Firewire/IEEE 1394 cable, 6-pin to 6-pin. Doesn't matter what brand.
Let me know if you have one you're willing to sell. I need one pretty soon.
Thanks!

All four of those photos are focused on the background instead of on the iPod. Would you please re-do making sure you are in focus?

If the user (who knows nothing of design, fonts, color, etc.) has control over the presentation of a company's image then there is absolutely no point in having a designer. Might as well have the intern throw something up there. Think before you write.
That's good advice; why don't you take it? I've done quite a bit of professional design...print and web...and the user doesn't have "control over the presentation of a company's image" on a web site; the user has control (or should have control) over aspects of how that image is presented. That's why you have the ability to override text sizes and style sheets. As I said, the web is not print and should not be treated as such. If you have anything to do with web design and you don't understand that, I'd suggest getting out of the business before you inflict any more harm.

I'm starting to have doubts, mainly for one reason: The show is only a few days away, and there is NO leaked material. No prototype photos from Mister Blurrycam, no packshots, no peripherals... Given Sony's track record of keeping new hardware secret, I'd say it's not looking good. If they do show it next week, then kudos to Sony for tightening their security! :)

I've mailed Steve twice over this issue. The last time with a link to a petition I started which got over 700 Signatures from Pro Users and Techies' : http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/applepros/ in just a few days. I got zero replies from anyone @ Apple regarding this, though I know for a fact that Apple are aware of it and quite high up the hierarchy too...

they'll let people upgrade at the subsidized iphone price (with a new 2-yr deal) because they'll see a mass exodus of subs if they don't.

As a professional photographer this thing is (and always will be) an "App Store" toy - nothing more.
The iPad will never have the horse power to do what pros need.A number of the comments here ("toy," "will never do X") are more than a bit reminiscent of what many reviewers were saying in 1984 - about the Mac.
9" 512x342 monochrome pixel display. 128 KB RAM. 8 MHZ Moto CPU. 16 bit. (Note that's "KB" - not MB, let alone GB - and "MHZ" not GHZ.) No HDD or on-board storage of any kind other than its 64K of ROM. The OS, apps and files shared the use of a single 400 K mini-floppy disk. Two non-standard serial ports. The original keyboard lacked arrow and function keys, and had no numeric keypad, enraging some potential users. And it went to market with fewer native apps than the Xoom.
And if you go back and look at MacWrite and MacPaint and compare them to where that "toy computer" and its apps are today (along with all the Windows computers which, uhhh, adopted its basic interface and input metaphor), and what it does.......
...i.e., all the types of tasks people here are saying can only be done on its current iterations, and "never" on the new toy...
...all the while (albeit with a hiatus in its middle years) remaining under the firm control of the same visionary leader someone here has labeled a "charlatan" and "aesthete"....
...and I've enjoyed watching it all happen while the naysayers have foamed at the mouth and gnashed their teeth at each and every new Apple release - even as Macs now hold an amazing 90% share of the premium (i.e., money-making part of) the PC market. Some toy.
And lest some of you have forgotten, some program called... ...what was it, oh yeah, "Photoshop"... ...was originally released on this "hopeless" platform. (As were Pagemaker, Illustrator and QuarkExpress, e.g.)
We're four years into iDevices and only ONE year into the iPad era. The New Yorker had a cover created on an original iPhone within months of its release. A somewhat major artist released a video on YouTube produced on an iPad 2 with iMovie and GarageBand within a day or two of its release.
What will these device classes (and their successor innovations) be capable of in 3 years? 5? 10? 30?
Perspective, people. Vision, hope, creativity, engineering, a willingness to jump off (calculated) new cliffs - and perspective.
Some'a y'all oughta' go develop some.
