Even if you know you want a previous gen, you don't want to buy right before a keynote because prices will usually drop if a new rev comes out.

This path of escalation is necessarily faster for serious problems but is intended to give users a chance to comply as well as to understand what's expected of them under the rules.

Ok, so lets say I go with 3rd party memory. If I have an unrelated problem with the MBP, would I need to put the original memory back in before taking it in for service?

I swapped out the factory ram with some stuff from OWC. I will keep my factory ram, FYI. As you state, if I have a problem, then Apple cannot give me crap for using third party ram. If the problem is ram related or I suspect a ram issue, then I have my original ram to replace the OWC stuff and conduct tests. It's a win-win situation honestly. Hope this helps.

I would agree with 2tb.. I use the 2tb Hitchai 7200 rpm drives..I have not had luck with the western digital green drives.
I also seen the 2tb Hitchai drives work in the Xserve G5, Xserve and xserve 2009. My Xserve2006 was very flacky.
I do think the 3tb drives will work in the 2008 or newer xserve, but I have not tested it. I will report back on that

How many times did you try the jb and what were you using? Pwnage or greenpoison? Just because the jb fails once doesn't mean that it was a disaster. Try the jb again.
At this point im just frustrated. I changed the host file with this ip 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com Then I followed all the steps and got 4.2.1 on. When I went to jailbreak, I got it into DFU mode but the jailbreak failed. Now I just want to update to 4.3 but I cant because I dont remember what I changed and replace with this 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com. Anybody know the original text so I can update to 4.3?

I have upgrade my iBook OS, from OS922 to 10.3.8.
(iBook G3 800 MHz, 384 Mb SDRAM, HD 40Gb, ADSL256)
Before I erased all data on my hard disk to zero. Clean installation also.
After that, as a result, I have a corrupted display and a freezed iBook!
(see attached...)
BUT, if I boot the iBook without extensions, (safe boot),
it's ok....
I have no ideas how to solve this bug. I tried to re install twice, no more success... I run Disk Utility, TechToolsPro, DiskWarrior, nothing special...
I think to understand a System log could help.
What does <The "HasShadow" window property is obsolete> mean?
How, and where learn to use those system log?
I usually manage well my troobleshootings, but I'm not at all experienced in Unix, BSD, and System log.

What is a good app for a newbie to create a webpage? I want something simple and easy, free would be a plus. I also have a simple knowledge of html.
After a lot of deciding, I bought and am now using Dreamweaver. It isn't free though. If you qualify for a student/faculty discount it is $99. I am using the book Dreamweaver MX 2004: the Missing Manual (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0596006314/qid=1127826156/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-6951142-5757641?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)
which is helping me a lot. I love the tutorials which you can download from the books website.

I'll xth the Target recommendation from this thread. Mine came from Target, with the help of some co-workers, and the only stories I've ever heard of people seeing them on the shelves were at Target.
They are definitely doing something right, heck my mother-in-law knows what a Wii is (even how to spell it) and that's really out of the ordinary for her.

Why would that be the case? If you want to sell your computer and you installed lion yourself, why would a computer with lion installed by Apple be worth any more assuming both systems have the same hardware?

I have installed Windows through bootcamp on my Mac. Is there any way to "ask" what disk to start up on so I don't have to hold the option key.
