There are more iPhones, Macs, etc. sold here than anywhere in the world.
Where are your figures to back this up?
I don't care. I'm an iPhone owner. I don't have to prove affection for Apple products to anyone.

Of course not, but it deters thieves from using the online system for easy pickins to commit fraud. So it's not as easy to steal an iPhone online anymore, and other smartphones aren't hot sellers, so they'll go find some other scam that affects someone else.

The burden of proof lies with you, who is to trying to make a point with thin, if any, actual evidence. I'm not using nor relying on the Consumerist to make my point, so I don't have to prove its validity or lack thereof.
On the other hand, you are using ONLY the Consumerist (and a couple blogs that are blindly parroting the Consumerist without doing any research of their own), and just telling me I HAVE to beleive the consumerist because YOU say it's "well-respected." Well, *I* never really respected the Consumerist, because it has a history of blindly following sensationalist leads and has a marked anti-corporate leaning. I'm more inclined to respect sources that are objective and don't have a mission that blatantly compromises that objectivity. So sorry, you'll have to find additional evidence. And I'm not going to do your homework for you.

Why you have so much invested in convincing people that AT&T is blocking iPhone sales - and only online - for network resource control, is beyond me. Especially when such a tactic would have no effect on the problem this alleged conspiracy would supposedly solve. And the fact that you need to sell it so hard that it "pisses [you] off" that someone would challenge your thin and faulty argument kinda confirms you don't really have a leg to stand on.

everyone WILL have to install both updates, you can not update the SMC until you update the EFI, the SMC wont even show up in Software Update until the EFI is done
also, i did the SMC update, and the fans are so freaking loud, i mean LOUD

I think the Japanese version of the "Get A Mac" ad was first aired in the Japanese TV on last Saturday at around 10 pm Japan Time.
I was a bit surprised, not only because "Get A Mac" is in Japanese, but also because Apple has chosen the right man to do the Ad, the Rahmen!!
I love Rahmen's way of making spoof.
I quickly posted the ad, and of course the famous Rahmen spoof on Japanese in Sushi in my blog (http://macfordummy.blogspot.com).

This gave me the idea of a combined AppleCare plan. Since Apple is pitching their mobile computing products in three major categories: iPhone, iPad, and MacBook - it would be really cool to offer a combined AC plan for two or all three categories.
Like I have a iPhone and a MacBook - wouldn't it be neat to be able to buy a hybrid plan that would be about $20 to $30 cheaper than buying them individually?

I have the same problem.. it might be. may it be that mac version is not available if submitted computer stats are of a pc?That can't be it, because I gave mac specs, and had an option to download the pc or mac version. I think I remember reading something about the mac beta being only for america, though i could be mistaken.

If you ask me, it's pretty clear Apple will update all of its laptops before the holiday season. I personally can't wait to buy a new MB, because my 600 MHz G3 iMac is getting a bit sluggish. My question is this: Will it be a simple CPU upgrade, or will Apple change pricing and/or other hardware (such as HD capacity, RAM, etc.)? Oh, and how long do I have to wait?
It's pretty clear that Apple will not be releasing to laptops before the holiday season. Laptops just aren't the typical gift. They are in the wrong price range.
Don't be surprised to see iTV sooner than later or the long waited video iPod.
Expect the new revised Mac Book Pro in January, featuring a redesigned enclosure and keyboard.

Apple already sells the iPhone on T-Mobile; at least in Germany. If you really want to, just unlock one and pop in a TM sim card (try doing that on Verizon). Sure you won't get to play scrabble at 3G speeds on TM, but it's not like you'd be able to on AT&T. ;)

I've seen no attempt to quantitively factor quality into all these price comparisions that get thrown around. The build quality on my shiny doors is better than the build quality on any PC I've personally seen since a really nice Intel (yes, Intel) built PC from about '93.
If there's a desire to compare simply on price, then you might as well use a random number generator - it's too much Apple and Oranges.
I remember the storm caused a few years ago when a number of the UK PC manufacturers admitted that a 5% - 10% failure rate was the rates they operated on. I've just witnessed 3 motherboards out of about 15 go "phut" at work - due to design defects rather than going out of warranty as well. So should I conclude that they're good value for money because they are cheaper?
